Wow, that still sounds like a date from some futuristic sci-fi movie. Did anyone predict 2022 would look like this? Back to the Future 2 certainly did not; in fact, according to the “future” in that movie (i.e. 2015), we were supposed to have flying hoverboards seven years ago!
But while it may be tempting to want to go back to “simpler times” like those in 2015, or to want things to go “back to normal,” I think that would be a disservice to all we’ve been through.
Let me explain.
After giving someone a vaccine, I often joke that they will be stronger, smarter, and better looking…guaranteed. It’s generally received with a chuckle (and a few groans). But as I reflect back on the last two years, I wonder…
- How can we become stronger, smarter, and “better looking” in 2022 and beyond?
- How can we make preventative medicine (and routine vaccination) part of regular life, and standard healthcare?
- How can we make empathy, and trying to understand the differences between us as human beings, the rule, rather than the exception?
As for “better looking,” well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The most attractive people I know are the ones who are genuinely interested in, and care about, others.
Thank you for being part of our Pharmacy and for supporting our staff. We’re excited to continue this journey together of enhancing the health of those in our care.
P.S. I’m still waiting for real hoverboards!
